You can empower independence and enrich lives!
The Sight Center of Northwest Ohio offers a unique blend of programs and services that can help people of all ages work, learn, play, and live independently with permanent vision loss. From the Low Vision Clinic to high tech assistive devices, daily living adaptations, home safety enhancements, white cane training and caregiver support, The Sight Center is changing lives every day!
Donations play an important role in our ability to serve clients. The cost of just one hour of vision rehabilitation therapy is over $50 and is not covered by insurance. Yet these specialized services teach lifelong skills that lead to greater independence for people who have lost all or part of their vision.
Your gift can help The Sight Center provide services such as:
- Vision Rehabilitation - Guidance on adaptive ways to perform daily tasks to live independently at home, to maintain employment or to take part in community life..
- Orientation & Mobility - Instruction in safe, independent travel in the home, workplace or community including white cane and sighted-guide training.
- Low Vision Therapy-Training on the appropriate selection and utilization of low vision equipment such as magnifiers, lighting, and filters to address the functional impairments associated with vision loss.
